I hand my iPad to a lot of people during the week and several have asked my about the wallpapers I use. They are photo painted renderings of a couple of my original nature photos. The watercolor effect makes the colors pop while eliminating some detail that might be distracting from the iPad home screen. So here you have them both, Marigold and Clover, one shot in my yard, the other in Mom's.

I've heard that Chinese Restaurants adapt to the countries in which they find themselves by using preparing local vegetables using traditional spices and techniques.  I had never heard that they have also adapted the messages and Chinese language instruction in their fortune cookies based on their locality a well.  Cracking open a cookie revealed the following message after a meal at one of my favorite Chinese Restaurants. I was delighted to see they presented a word I might actually get to use on my way home. Of course, I pasted it in my handy moleskin journal.

I guess TypeDrawing was featured in the iPad app store because I don't otherwise remember exactly how I stumbled upon it. It is an elegant application that let's you doodle with letters. More importantly it let's me doodle with letters, so I did. It is so much fun that I think that one day soon I will let my kids play with it.

The Greenville County Library System Publishes Driving Tour
of Historic Greenville County Sites

Greenville, SC – The Carolina First South Carolina Room of the
Greenville County Library System has published the second edition of
its Greenville County Driving Tour of Historic Sites. The full color,
48-page booklet offers residents and visitors alike a journey through
time into Greenville County history. The publication presents three
leisurely routes through the county: Northern Tour, Downtown Tour and
Southern Tour along with images and historical background about each
of the 53 locations from the Carolina First South Carolina Room’s
archives.

The Greenville County Driving Tour of Historic Sites can be purchased
for $4.00 at any library location, the Carolina First South Carolina
Room, the Friends Shop at the Hughes Main Library and select retailers
in the area. The Greenville County Driving Tour of Historic Sites was
produced through the generous support of the Friends of the Greenville
County Library System.

I have heard a few people say the iPad is for content consumption, not content creation. After using mine for several weeks, I can assure you it is useful for some types of content creation. Here is a poppet diagram I made that displays some of my favorite content creation tools on the iPad. I use the iPad to create words, articles, diagrams, charts, thank you letters, music, and drawings.
